Ten people have been injured in a crash between a bus and a car transporter near Athlone, Co Westmeath.
Two of the injured are believed to be in a serious condition after the incident which happened on the Dublin road just outside Athlone at about 3 p.m. Eight others were treated for shock.
The Bus Éireann Expressway service from Limerick to Dublin was half empty at the time of the crash.
A Garda spokeswoman said the road had not been closed, but traffic is reported to be moving slowly on the N6 this evening. AA Roadwatch has said delays of 20 to 30 minutes should be expected on both sides of the town.
