Teenager critical after shooting

A teenager has been shot and serious wounded in a gangland-style shooting in west Dublin.

A teenager has been shot and serious wounded in a gangland-style shooting in west Dublin.

The shooting happened in Moorfield Avenue, Clondalkin shortly after 7pm this evening.

Gardaí said the 19-year-old victim was shot twice in the neck.

The victim, who is not known to gardaí, has been taken to Tallaght Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

A Garda spokesman said detectives were treating the shooting as attempted murder.

The scene of the shooting, a housing estate, has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

Investigating officers at Ronanstown Garda station have appealed for information.
