A STRIKE at TEAM Aer Lingus is almost certain to go ahead tomorrow following an almost unanimous vote by 80 aircraft maintenance workers to reject settlement proposals negotiated between SIPTU and TEAM management.
The proposals were aimed at dealing with longstanding productivity bonus claims, the use of temporary labour and the "upskilling" of workers.
Mr Paul O'Sullivan, SIPTU branch secretary, said "the aircraft maintenance assistants had tried over many months to use the agreed negotiating procedures. The company proposals represented too little, too late."
A company spokesman said TEAM was very disappointed.
