Gardai have appealed to a taxi-driver who rang the Garda confidential telephone line on Thursday, in connection with the death of a Dublin man, to contact them again.

Mr Sammy Ralph (22), from Alfie Byrne House in the city, died on Thursday afternoon in the Mater Hospital from injuries he sustained in an assault at the junction of O'Connell Street and Cathal Brugha Street early on Monday. One man was arrested and taken to Store Street station, but was released later without charge. A file has been sent to the DPP.
