ACTOR Joe Lynch who plays Dinny Byrne in RTE's Glenroe, has had a tax judgment of £62,288 registered against him.
The High Court judgment was made last Wednesday in favour of the Collector General of the Revenue Commissioners. It was registered to an address at Mount Merrion Avenue, Blackrock, Co Dublin.
It is the second tax judgment made against the actor in the past five years. In May 1991, a tax judgment of £60,620 was made against him in the name of the Collector General.
The judgment against Mr Lynch (71), is published in the current issue of Stubbs Gazette and the Irish Trade Protection Association's Gazette. A Stubbs Gazette spokeswoman said yesterday the judgment had not yet been satisfied.
Attempts to contact Mr Lynch yesterday at his home in northern Spain were unsuccessful. A spokeswoman for him, Ms Maureen McGlynn, said she was unaware a judgment had been registered against him. She said Mr Lynch, with his wife Marie, divided his time between his two homes in Surrey and Spain.
He had been in Spain for the past month since filming on Glen roe ended and was not expected to return to Ireland until filming resumed in late July.
Ms McGlynn said Mr Lynch used to rent an apartment at the Mount Merrion Avenue address where the tax judgment was registered and his tenancy there ended four years ago.
