The Institute of Technology in Tallaght will almost double in size with the opening of a new extension this afternoon.
The development comprises additional lecture rooms, new science, computing and advanced engineering laboratories, as well as a major external services centre.
The Minister for Education and Science, Dr Woods, will officiate at the opening.
Student numbers are set to rise to over 4,300, of which 2,500 attend full-time courses at the Institute, which has a reputation as a significant centre for advanced manufacturing and pharmaceutical technology.
