Parking restrictions will be in force today in Howth village and the Howth Summit/Sutton areas, gardai said yesterday. These will be caused by the departure of the Tall Ships which many people are expected to view from Howth Summit.

The restrictions will come into force from 9 a.m. Dublin Bus is providing a shuttle bus service from the Howth DART station to Howth Summit. The wooden bridge at Dollymount will be closed to all traffic, except emergency vehicles, from 9 a.m.

Custom House Quay between Talbot Memorial Bridge and Commons Street, North Wall Quay, Sir John Rogerson's Quay and Britain Quay will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. As the ships leave under sail, they may be seen from 1 p.m. onwards from Sandymount, Dun Laoghaire, Killiney, Blackrock, Poolbeg, Dollymount Strand, Clontarf, Howth Head and Sutton.
