To mark the 50th anniversary of the discovery of DNA's double helix, the award-winning biographer, Brenda Maddox, will deliver a free public talk on a researcher whose work played a crucial part of this discovery but whose contribution was overlooked for years.
Maddox has written a book about the scientist, Rosalind Franklin, The Dark Lady of DNA, and will discuss the role of Rosalind Franklin (right) in the DNA discoveries. She took X-ray images that helped show the double helix structure of DNA.
The talk is organised by Women in Technology and Science (WITS) and the RDS in association with The Irish Times. The lecture takes place at 7p.m. on April 8th in the Royal Dublin Society Library in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
