Kabul - Afghanistan's Taliban militia yesterday charged French journalist Michel Peyrard with spying, a charge punishable by death, after he entered the country disguised in a woman's "burqa" full-body veil.

The Paris Match reporter and two Pakistani colleagues - Mohammad Irfan and Mukkaram Khan - were arrested on Tuesday and found in possession of "spying equipment" in the form of a satellite telephone, a Taliban official said.
