Jerusalem - Syria is set to complete the withdrawal of all 3,000 of its soldiers from the greater Beirut area by tomorrow, Lebanese security sources say, reports David Horovitz. Some of the soldiers, who began leaving a dozen major bases in the city late last week, are being redeployed to the south of the city; others are heading back into Syria.
The move reflects growing international pressure and calls from Lebanese Christian leaders for Syria to follow Israel's lead and withdraw all its forces from the country.
