Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of an 81-year-old man in Wexford

Gardaí are investigating the suspicious death of an 81-year-old man in Wexford. His body was discovered outside a house at Ballyedmond, just off the main Wexford Gorey road, at about 4.50pm yesterday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the office of the State Pathologist was notified. The body remained at the scene last night. The area was sealed off for a forensic examination.

A 51-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Enniscorthy Garda station for questioning.

Separately, gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the death of a man after he fell from a roof in Co Kerry. The man has been named locally as David Courtney (44) from Listry. The incident occurred on Friday. A postmortem is being carried out.
