An earthquake struck western Greece today, but no injuries or damage were reported.
The US Geological Survey said the 5.7 magnitude quake struck earlier at a depth of 20.5 miles.
The Athens Geodynamic Institute measured the quake at 5.4 and said it was centered off the southwestern coast of the Ionian island of Zakynthos, 330 kilometres away from Athens.
Police and witnesses said there were no reports of injuries or damage.

"We felt the earthquake but there are no immediate reports of any damage," said a police official in Zakynthos. Greece is regularly hit by earthquakes.
