Almost 140 Ryanair passengers who were stranded in southern France on Christmas Eve secured flights to Ireland today.

Almost 140 Ryanair passengers who were stranded in southern France on Christmas Eve secured flights to Ireland today.

They were unable to complete their journeys on Sunday because weather-related complications to the flight schedule.

Some 138 people were hoping to fly to Ireland on Christmas Eve on Ryanair flights from Carcassonne to Dublin and Shannon Airports.

Ryanair has issued an apology to all the delayed passengers concerned for the disruption to their plans.
