Story-teller Eamon Kelly is back on stage at the Tivoli Theatre on Francis Street on Monday night and is once more regaling the audience with tales of the Irish in New York. The Kerryman has the crowd cracking up, and all the other performers waiting back stage at the Bring them Home for Christmas charity concert know he's a hard act to follow. The Lord Mayor of Dub- lin, Alderman Maurice Aherne makes a special presentation of Waterford Glass to the actor.

Ronnie Drew and Eleanor Shanley, who's just home from gigging in Holland, went on before Eamon and now settle in to enjoy the rest of the night's entertainment. Glenroe's Mick Lally comperes the evening and Juliet Turner follows Eamon on stage. The charity concert is in aid of Mayo doctor Jerry Cowley's Safe Home Initiative, which works to bring older Irish emigrants living in the cities around Britain home to Ireland, and follows a performance of Red Kettle's production of The Kings of Kilburn High Road by Jimmy Murphy, which is the story of a lonely bunch of Irish emigrants in London dreaming of doing just that.
