TWO major department stores are to appeal Circuit Court decisions refusing them interest on compensation awards for damage caused in the 1992 bombings in Dublin.ruled out Courts Act interest payments for malicious injury claims.

Marks and Spencers, of Mary Street, had asked the court to order Dublin Corporation to pay Pounds 108,000 interest on a Pounds 336,000 award for damage to the store in March, 1992. Mr John Doherty, for the Corporation, said the court had already refused a Pounds 70,000 interest claim by Guiney and Company Ltd., of Talbot Street.
