Stena Line has rejected a Labour Court recommendation that it improve a redundancy offer to 42 workers who lost their jobs as a result of the winter-time closure of services on the Dún Laoghaire-Holyhead route.
It said it felt the offer was already “more than generous” at between five and six weeks’ pay per year of service, with some to receive “in excess of €100,000”. The firm agreed to assist in placing the workers affected into the new seasonal Dún Laoghaire-Holyhead service, should jobs be available.
