An order preventing the radio station 98 FM from inducing FM 104 radio presenter Mr Chris Barry into breaking his contract with that station and joining 98 FM was issued by the High Court yesterday.

Ms Justice Laffoy granted an interim injunction to Capital Radio Productions Ltd, of Ballast House, O'Connell Bridge, Dublin, and trading as FM 104, against Radio 2000 Limited, trading as 98 FM, with registered offices at Malt House, Grand Canal Quay, Dublin.

The order restrains the defendants from doing anything which produces or induces Pavilion Company Limited /Ciaran Gaffney (otherwise known as Chris Barry) from breaking his contract of June 11th, 1996, with FM 104. The court heard this contract was not due to expire until January 31st, 1999.
