Lazio defender Jaap Stam has been given the go-ahead by the Italian League appeals commission to return to Serie A action following his drugs ban on March 16th.
Lazio wanted the Dutch international’s four-month suspension for taking nandrolone cut to allow him play in the Rome derby next weekend against Roma, but this was opposed by the Italian League.
A Lazio spokesman said: "Stam will return on March 16th and should be available to play against Brescia".
Stam joined Lazio from Manchester United in August and tested positive for nandrolone on October 13th.
