A 32-year-old woman was in hospital last night facing surgery to remove the blade of a kitchen knife from her back, after she was stabbed at her home in Co Wicklow.
The injured woman told gardai that a man was in her house, at Old Conna Grove in Bray, when she got home on Thursday at about 9.30 p.m. and that he stabbed her in the back with a knife from a kitchen block.
The woman is reported to have gone to a neighbour's house with the blade of the knife still in her back and the emergency services were called. She was rushed to St Columcille's hospital in Loughlinstown, Co Dublin.
