A man who has persistent backache after a car crash almost three years ago has been awarded £19,500. Mr Shaymus O'Quigley, counsel for Mr Muir O'Loughlin, of Downside, Golflinks Road, Skerries, Co Dublin told the Circuit Civil Court a Garda squad car had "rear ended" his client's vehicle and liability was not in issue.
The president of the Circuit Court, Mr Justice Frank Spain, awarding damages against the Minister for Finance, said that as well as a virtually continuous ache in his back, Mr O'Loughlin, a businessman, suffered discomfort while sitting for long periods.
