SPEED HASTE is about as standard a car racing game as you'll come across, with no extras included it's just start them up and race in true arcade style. In fact the only real choice facing you is whether you want to race Stock Car or Formula One.
Having made that selection and taken to the grid you'll find nothing to distract you from the heat of the action. There are no pit stops, no power ups, no money to be earned, no new engines or spare parts to be purchased, no short cuts and probably most important of all you can't suffer any damage to your car.
While this may seem a little basic, it proves to be its strong point. There are beginner, amateur and pro tracks among the eight available and you can also select either manual or automatic gear shift. After that it's "Go!"
And go it certainly does. The action is fast and furious and one feels in genuine control. To make it even more appealing, Speed Haste allows players to compete against each other over modem, serial or network connections.
This is arcade racing at its best.
Not one for the aficionados.
