Madrid - Spanish police and customs agents arrested 90 people, seized 9,000 kilos of hashish and discovered more than 270 illegal immigrants in a 20-day operation in southern Spain, officials said yesterday.
The joint exercise between the paramilitary Civil Guard and the customs surveillance office took place on sea, land and air over an area of about 20 km in the province of Cadiz in southern Spain between May 26th and June 15th, said Cmdr Francisco Espinosa, chief of communications for Andalucia.
