Spanish customs seized cocaine worth €1 million heading to Ireland in a parcel sent by courier, writes TOM WORDEN
Traffickers sent 13 kilos of the drug in a package marked “urgent” from Madrid. But it was detected by customs officers in Barajas airport in the Spanish capital on Monday.
They contacted police in Dublin, who arrested two people.
The Spanish authorities said the drugs would be worth €1 million when cut up and sold on the streets of Ireland. They would not reveal the names of the two people arrested in Dublin.
