A fire on board a Spanish fishing boat off the southwest coast has been brought under control and a crew of 12 men is recovering after the incident.
The fire broke out on the Galaxiashortly after 2 p.m. yesterday about 100 miles off the Co Cork coast. The LE Aoife, a Coast Guard helicopter, and the Valentia life boat all responded to the incident.
The boat is this morning being brought by another Spanish boat to Valentia. There were no injuries during the incident.
