Blackburn manager Graeme Souness says he will resist attempts to lure Damien Duff away from the club, despite reports in the British media this morning linking the Republic of Ireland star with a move to Manchester United.

United are reportedly interested in the 23-year-old and Liverpool were keen to sign him during the summer but were put off by the £16 million asking price.

Duff subsequently signed a new deal with Blackburn, but with both United and Liverpool looking for reinforcements to try and keep pace with Premiership leaders Arsenal speculation about the winger has resurfaced.

Souness, however, insists Duff will be staying at Ewood Park. He said: "We signed him on a new deal last year, our intention is to keep him and nothing has changed. We have heard nothing from anyone."
