A MAN who alleges he was sexually abused and ill-treated as a child has told a Central Criminal Court jury that he had some good memories of his father but was “not letting him get away with what he did”.
The 52-year-old accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and anal and oral rape, neglect or ill-treatment of the boy.
The now 20-year-old complainant told David Goldberg SC during cross-examination that he had some good memories of his father such as times when they went to play pool and went fishing together. He agreed with Mr Goldberg that he sometimes watched porn channels on the television and may have been aggressive when babysitting.
He agreed he had made contact with his father after he left the family home and that they went to play pool. He agreed he had returned home for a time and had been reluctant to leave.
When told by Mr Goldberg he could stop the case right now if he wanted to, the complainant replied: “I am not letting him get away with what he did.”
The trial continues.
