TWO soldiers in the Scots Guards have lost their final legal challenge against life sentences for murdering an unarmed Belfast teenager.
James Fisher (27) and Mark Wright (22) were refused leave in the Northern Ireland of Appeal to take their case to the House of Lords.
The Lord Chief Justice, Sir Brian Hutton, who heard application along with Justice Carswell and Mr Justice McCollum, said they would give their reasons tomorrow.
Fisher, from Glendale Place Belmont, Ayr, and Wright, from Glebe Road, Arbroath, Tayside, had claimed at their trial that they were acting in self defence when they shot Mr Peter McBride (18) near home in the New Lodge, fast in September, 1992.
