The Ballymun Jobs Centre is to run a new programme, in conjunction with IBEC, to improve personnel management skills in small businesses. The Accelerator Programme for owner/managers is being funded through the EU ADAPT programme and involves a series of evening workshops.
It will show small businesses how to improve their recruitment procedures, introduce staff appraisal systems and improve their knowledge of employment legislation. It will also provide training in the development of negotiating skills to create "win-win" outcomes in meeting with employees or trade unions.
