More cases of swine flu emerged today, with Ethiopia and Slovenia confirming their first infections.
Ethiopia is the second country after South Africa to report the new strain of the virus
"Since swine flu was declared in Mexico, Ethiopia has been free of the disease. But today we can confirm two cases," health minister Tewedros Adhanhom said.
Both were teenage girls who arrived back in the country on Saturday for a break from their US high school, he said.
"We have enough drugs to treat 100,000 people should it break out," Mr Tewedros said.
Meanwhile, Slovenia also confirmed its first case of H1N1 flu virus.
The national Institute for Public Health said the virus was confirmed in a young woman who returned from the United States on Wednesday.
"The patient is recovering at home and people near her have been informed how to act to avoid the spread of the virus," Alenka Kraigher of the institute told national TV Slovenia.
She said Slovenia had sufficient supply of medicines and added she saw no danger the virus would spread in the country.
