The operation, which took six weeks of planning, was launched after local residents alerted police.

A police spokeswoman said it was quickly established that Ecstasy tablets were being sold from a floor of the building in Eglantine Street, a short distance away from a popular nightclub.

The flat had been fortified with multiple locks and bolts, reinforced steel panels in the door and protected by CCTV cameras.
