Six people were killed Saturday when the helicopter they were in crashed in northwestern Italy, local officials said.
The helicopter, belonging to a private company, was carrying a group of skiers when it crashed into the side of a mountain in the Sestriere region, west of Turin and near the French border.
One other person was seriously injured in the accident. Army, police and rescue teams were on the scene to aid in the recovery operation, but strong winds and low clouds were hindering their efforts.
