Gardaí have discovered bomb-making equipment and arrested six men in a planned search in Co Louth.
The discovery was made in an outhouse in the Inniskeen area between Dundalk and Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of dissident republicans.
It is understood the find relates to the activities of the Continuity IRA in the area.

They arrested 4 men under the Offences against the State Act. A vehicle and a quantity of bomb making material was seized. The area has been sealed off for technical examination.
In follow up searches in the Dundalk area two more men were arrested. Further searches are being conducted in the border area in co-operation with the PSNI.
The men, ranging in ages from early 20s to mid 40s, have been taken to Garda stations in Ashbourne, Co Meath and Balbriggan, Co Dublin.
