SIPTU has served strike notice on TEAM Aer Lingus for March 13th. The strike is over the failure of the company to meet a number of SIPTU claims involving issues such as retraining, productivity bonuses and the use of temporary workers.
The SIPTU members involved are aircraft maintenance assistants. They operate with craftworkers in overhauling aircraft.
The company says that SIPTU is in breach of procedural agreements by threatening industrial action at this in the dispute. It says the threat of action is only undermining the efforts of management and staff to restore TEAM to viability and profitability.
