Sinn Féin leader Mr Gerry Adams is due to arrive tomorrow in Havana, at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Cuban press reported today.
Mr Adams is due to meet with Cuba's Vice President Carlos Lage on Monday, along with other "party, government and Cuban state personalities," according to the daily Granma newspaper.
The paper said the visit marked "cordial relations of friendship that exist between both parties."
Mr Adams's trip, originally planned for September, was postponed following the August arrest in Colombia of Mr Niall Connolly, Sinn Féin's representative to Cuba.
Mr Connolly was detained along with two other Irishmen, Mr Martin McCauley and Mr James Monaghan, on suspicion of training left-wing guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
In October, Mr Adams said in Belfast that Connolly's role in Cuba had been decided without his knowledge, or the authorization of his party's international department.
