Gardai are investigating an incident in which a youth received pellet wounds late on Monday night. They were alerted when the youth was brought to St James's Hospital in Dublin, but he was not detained.
He told gardai he was in Donomore Crescent in Tallaght when he saw a group of other youths and heard a shot. He fell to the ground injured.
Earlier, a man delivering takeaway meals reported that while making a delivery in Donomore Crescent at about 11.45 p.m., his car was surrounded by a group of six youths, one brandishing what looked like a handgun. He reversed and, while driving off, he heard a shot.
