Two men armed with a sawn-off shotgun made off with a substantial sum of money after holding up a security van which was stocking a cash machine in Dublin this afternoon.
At least one shot was fired during the raid at an ATM on the Howth Road in Clontarf at 1.15pm and “large amount of cash” was taken in the robbery, gardai said.
"Security company staff were servicing ATMs when they were held up by at least two raiders. The two men produced what appeared to be a sawn off shotgun and a single shot was fired," a Garda statement said.
The men fled the scene in a four-wheel drive vehicle.

No-one was hurt and a garda investigation is underway.
Gardai asked for witnesses to contact them at Clontarf station.
