The Leinster Society of Chartered Accountants today announced the 25 finalists for the best annual report and accounts for 2001.

Entry of the awards is open to all organisations, public and private, state owned bodies, agricultural and other co-operatives, building societies, charities and other organisations which publish annual reports and accounts.

The finalists include Bula Resource, Dunloe Ewart and National Toll Roads. Finalists in the category for not for profit organisations include the GAA, IDA Ireland, and the Pensions Board.

In judging the awards, the panel will consider the following:

  • The extent to which the annual report and accounts demonstrate the effectiveness of the enterprise in utilising its available resources in the achievement of its stated objectives
  • The clarity and readability of the contents of the report and accounts
  • The extent to which the annual report and accounts and accompanying information comply with contemporary accounting and information disclosure requirements
  • Additional information contained in supplementary reports and other such statements where they form part of the annual report and interim statements and accounts

The awards, sponsored by www.pensionsunplugged.comwill be presented at a lunch that will in the Burlington Hotel, on November 23rd.
