An annual Christmas shoebox appeal is asking Irish people to send small gifts to children whose families survive on as little as €1 a day, in nine countries.

Team Hope is asking Irish people to fill a shoebox and include a €3 donation for transportation and distribution.

Shoeboxes can contain anything from toys, educational items or small household goods such as soap, toothpaste, envelopes, paper and pens. Team Hope will accept shoeboxes until November 18th. Further information can be found in a leaflet which is available by phoning 01-2940222 or via the teamhope.ie website, which also lists locations where shoeboxes can be dropped off.
