It's raining cats and dogs; perfect weather to talk about holidays. A former footballer, a walker and all manner of representatives from the tourism industry arrive to enjoy a lunch to launch the Discover Ireland Spring/Summer 2001 brochure.
Chris Kane, of Bord Failte, chats to Cartan Finegan, of Heritage Island, recalling the glory days when he played football for Dublin in the 1960s. Ah, the good old days.
Margaret Storey, representing Town & Country Homes, talks eagerly to Kathryn Delany, chairwoman of Irish Farmhouse Holidays. They work together "quite a lot" so there's much to discuss, such as the "go as you please holiday" package, and the upcoming Holiday World Experience at the RDS this weekend and in Cork next week. Whew.
Brendan Moran, from the Irish Travel Agents Association, talks to Hilary Finlay, of the Irish Country Houses and Restaurants Association.
Then John Dully, chief executive of Bord Failte, is at the mike, telling us that "when it comes to holidaying in Ireland, whatever it is, we have it". When we all head back out into the day - funnily enough - it's stopped raining and the sun has come out.
