Shelbourne football club today confirmed details of a charity match against the actors from Sky One’s fictional soccer drama ‘Dream Team’. The announcement was made at a press conference in Dublin’s Gresham Hotel.

Harchester United, the show’s fictitious team consisting of actors, will play the reigning league champions and FAI Cup holders at Tolka Park on January 28th.

Ken Doherty, 1997 World Snooker Champion, Boyzone member Keith Duffy and Republic of Ireland and Manchester United legend Paul McGrath will play for the Drumcondra side.

Doherty is a renowned Shamrock Rovers supporter and when quizzed on having to don the Shelbourne jersey, the Ranelagh man quipped: "It’s only for a day and it’s also for charity so hopefully I can be forgiven!."

The entire Harchester United squad will line out against Dermot Keely’s men. The actors playing the characters of Billy O’Neill, Carl Fletcher, Scott Lucas and Monday Bandele will be among those best known.

The game, sponsored by Boru Vodka, aims to raise £30,000 for the Childline charity. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, January 11th from Ticketmaster and will also be available from Tolka Park on match day.

Prices are as follows: £10 adult; £5 children; £25 family (2 adults + 2 children).
