Virgin Express, the low-cost airline, yesterday announced a Shannon-Brussels service, which includes connecting services to Rome, Barcelona, Madrid and Berlin.
The normal fare from Shannon to the Belgian capital will be £39 single plus tax and £59 to the other new destinations.
Virgin also announced it "will be offering the lowest fare ever from Shannon - £7 single to Brussels for a week in December".
The Irish Times learned, however, that the return fare during the promotion week would come to £29 including £5 Irish tax and £10 Belgian tax.
Mr Martin Hamrogue, director, Virgin Express Ireland, said that the offer would be available to first-come, first-served for travel between December 8th-14th only between Shannon and Brussels and there would be 2,000 seats available for the week.
