Seven people have been taken to hospital following two separate road incidents in the west of the country this evening.
Five people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision at about 6.50pm on the N6 at Aughrim, Co Galway.
The five were all occupants of a car that collided with a bus and were taken to Portiuncula hospital. According to a Garda spokesman, the driver of the car is thought to be the most seriously injured.
The N6 will be closed for the night to allow for a technical examination of the scene.
Elsewhere, two men were taken to Mid Western Regional Hospital, Dooradoyle, following a collision between a truck and a van on the Limerick-Bruff road.
According to AA Roadwatch, the road, the R512, is closed from Bruff through to the junction with Holycross following in the incident, which happened at around 7pm.
