Seven people arrested yesterday evening at a protest in Co Mayo over the controversial Corrib gas offshore pipeline have been released without charge.
An eighth person remains in custody this morning.
Shortly after 7pm demonstrators took to the water in kayaks close to Glengad Beach, where work is taking place to prepare the landfall for the pipeline, in an attempt to delay winching operations being carried out there.
Seven protesters were arrested on public order offences by the Garda water unit and taken ashore shortly before 9pm .
One other person was arrested on shore.

Members of the Mayo-based Shell to Sea organisation said that seven vessels were seized by gardaí during the protest.
