As demonstrators protested against water charges outside Swords District Court yesterday, a judge ordered seven more disconnections.
An estimated 200 people had gathered outside the court and chanted slogans and waved placards. Gardai were drafted in and crash barriers were erected outside the courthouse.
In court, seven people who had refused to pay water charges of £127.50 were each ordered to pay costs of £100 as Judge Thomas Patrick made orders to disconnect their water supply.
They were John Stronge, Sarto Park Colin Sayers, of Sutton Park Robert McAllister, Railway Avenue and John Kavanagh, Bayside Crescent, all in Dublin 13.
Disconnection orders were also made against Paul Fitzsimons of Oak Avenue, Santry Paul Lawlor, of Birchdale Road, Kinsealy and Charles Murphy, of Shanick Road, Skerries.
The judge struck out the cases against four people who had paid and made no order as to costs.
He adjourned two other cases to March 26th.
