Keane move
Robbie Keane made a “dream” move to Celtic this week, about a year and a half after making a “dream” move to Liverpool. The Irish captain went on loan until the end of the season but, aged 29, he has developed an unfortunate reputation for moving club. On Monday, transfer deadline day, his Wikipedia page was updated by pranksters to say he was moving to his local shop to buy milk and that he was moving into Formula One. He made his debut on Tuesday when Celtic lost 1-0.

Keen competition
It was a good week for our film industry, with five Irish nominees for the Oscars. The spotlight fell on the two animated nominations – Granny O'Grimmand The Secret of Kells(right) – each of which continued Ireland's growing reputation in the medium. There was also a nomination for short film The Door, which was made by a Bray company, is set in Ukraine and is in Russian with English subtitles. Richard Baneham's work on Avatarearned him an award in the visual effects category, while Peter J Devlin is up for best achievement in sound mixing for Star Trek.
