A mayor in Germany has won acclaim for introducing a park bench for teenagers. Following complaints in the city of Eppelheim that teens always sat on the top of benches and kept muddying the seats below, mayor Dieter Mörlein proposed putting the seat on top. He has named them “no-interest” benches as teens have “no interest in following etiquette. They all sit on the new benches like sparrows on a branch.”

Not a Lotto luck

A Tesco shopper in Navan missed out on a €500,000 lottery jackpot after returning the winning ticket they were given by mistake. It is understood the person had requested a €4 Quick Pick for the EuroMillions Plus draw on April 1st but when handed a €9 ticket in error, they returned it to the cashier, who locked it in the till. Tesco Ireland has said that if the company proves to be the ultimate winner of the prize, it will give the money away.
