Proceedings in which a barman had sued a bar customer, claiming he was entitled to £125,000 out of winnings of £500,000 on a Lotto ticket, have been settled, the High Court was told yesterday. A sum of £65,000 is to be paid out to solicitors representing the barman.
Mr Michael Curry, Saggart, Co Dublin, brought the action against Ms Rosanna (otherwise Anne) Seery, of Saggart, following the Lotto draw of January 22nd, 2000. Mr Curry had claimed he was entitled to a quarter share of the £500,000 based on the amount he invested in the syndicate.
