Hip-hop artists Eminem, 50 Cent and their respective posses will descend on Slane Castle this September.
Slane Castle owner Lord Mountcharles said he had "made it unequivocally clear" that Eminem was an artist he wanted at the September 17th event.
"What is interesting about Eminem as an artist is that he is provocative and he stretches parameters, and in some respects that has been the role of artists through the generations."
In an audiovisual link-up yesterday, Eminem said there would be "little surprises here and there" during his European tour.
While he had once caused controversy by bringing a chainsaw on stage, he had already upstaged that by bringing a Ferris wheel on stage in another tour.
"Every tour we try to up the stakes. You don't know what may happen. We don't have anything picked out yet. All I know is it is going to be big. We are going to be mixing it up and keeping it really fast-paced."
Lord Mountcharles, a fan, is looking forward to this year's concert at Slane. "Eminem is challenging, controversial, vigorous and a verbal wordsmith," he said.
He described Slane's hip-hop line-up as new, exciting and "something rural in an urban ideal."
He said he was confident the hip-hop star would sell out the 80,000-capacity venue as he had sold out Punchestown twice previously, with 100,000 people.
Joining Eminem at Slane Castle will be D-12, Obie-Trice and Stat Quo from the Shady Records roster, and representing the G-Unit family is Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and newest addition Olivia.
Also supporting the tour are relative newcomers Flipsyde from Cherrytree/Interscope records.
