SEOUL South Korean workers in the western port of Inchon said yesterday they would not handle food shipments to impoverished North Korea unless the Stalinist state showed it was ready to change.
"Unless the North Korean regime gives up its efforts to invade the South, attend the four-party peace talks, and change its policy, we refuse to load any food shipments being sent to the North," the Inchon Port and Transport Workers' Union said in a statement.
