A prostitute who tried to rob a French woman last May has had her sentence adjourned to May 31st for reports by Judge Elizabeth Dunne at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Lynn Gill (25), of North Strand, Dublin, pleaded guilty to the offence in Baggot Street and to assaulting a man on the same date. Ms Martina Baxter, defending, said Gill had been a heroin addict but had weaned herself off the drug with treatment in custody.

Gill, who had a knife up her sleeve, had grabbed the woman and ordered her to keep walking to a bank machine. Her card wouldn't work and Gill forced her to another machine. When a man came along the woman said she was being robbed. Gill tried to hit the man before she ran off.
